Q: Does anyone have any input on how good or bad the pontiac vibes are holding up?
I kind of like the looks of the Pontiac Vibe automobile but I haven’t heard too much about them. Anyone know of any problems or recalls on that model?
A: My mom’s had a Vibe for about 3 years and she loves it! My best friend’s mom has had one for four years; they both say they are so glad they got it. Very dependable…
Q: What do you think of pontiac vibes?
I am thinking about buying a 2005 vibe with around 30,000 miles on it. I would like honest answers whether they are good or bad . I have had some pretty bad cars recently and would like to get a good one for once. Thanks for your help!
A: the Vibe is a Toyota Matrix, with a Pontiac nameplate on it. Since Toyotas are reliable cars, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it for the right price. As with all used cars, I strongly suggest you take it to your mechanic and have him give the car a thorough inspection though, just to be sure. I charge a small fee ($20) for a used vehicle inspection and do quite a few of them a week for my customers. Ask him to check the usual things (engine, transmission, etc) as well as looking to see if there has been any paint or body work to the car. I’ve found major damage to some newer cars and advised my customers to be wary of what they buy. I’d rather have my customers satisfied with their vehicles and make sure they paid a reasonable price for the car then have to see it in the shop every week for repair. All in all, the Vibe is decent, as is the Matrix.
Q: What’s the difference between 2003-06 Pontiac Vibes?
From what I can tell, they all appear to be the same. Are there any difference?
I’m a first time driver looking for a car and I’m steering towards the vibe. If there isn’t a major difference between the 03 and 06 vibe, I’ll probably go with the 03 and spare a couple thousand.
Thanks
A: There is no difference between those year models. The Pontiac Vibe is also the exact same thing as a Toyota Matrix and is subject to the same stuck throttle issues that Toyota has been getting blamed for. The only difference between the Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix is emblems.
Q: Are breaks covered under 2007 pontiac vibes 36000 mile warranty?
A: If something breaks, yes it is covered. However, brakes are not covered (at least not the pads).
Q: How can I find a replacement door handle for my 2005 Pontiac Vibe?
I damaged the driver side rear door handle (exterior, black) of my 2005 Pontiac Vibe. I need to find a replacement part and figure out how to repair it. The part does not seem readily available on the internet. Does anyone have any advice?
A: These sites should help. Also try going to a junk yard. Your car is fairly new so they might not have parts but its worth a try and it’d be a whole lot cheaper.

Q: How much weight can I carry in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe?
I am getting ready to move to another state. How much weight can I carry in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe?
It is the base model with standard transmission if that matters.
A: Towing with a hitch 1500 pounds. Inside you should be able to carry about the same weight.
Q: What are your thoughts on a Pontiac Vibe?
Is a Pontiac Vibe a good vehicle for the price and what you get?
A: you do relize the vibe is the same as a toyota matrix so yep its a good car
Q: Is the 5 year service contract protection plan from GM worth it for the 2010 2.4L Pontiac Vibe?
This is a GM Protection Plan for the 2010 Pontiac Vibe. Does anyone know from personal experience, or anything, if this plan is well worth it? It claims that it covers anything having to do with the car. Does this include scratches, dents, and other things related to exterior, etc? Thanks for your reply.
A: No, these service plans usually do not cover the exterior such as the paint , dents, etc.
They cover mechanical problems.
If you afford it it is well worth it as long as the milage is pretty good.
There should already be a warranty that covers the car for a certain amount of time.
The service plan extends that period.
Q: Where to find a factory ski rack for a 2006 Pontiac vibe?
Hi! We’re trying to find a ski rack for our 2006 Pontiac vibe, but our dealerships say that they are no longer available. I’ve looked on many websites, but can only find aftermarket! Anyone know how to find one that’s not aftermarket or how to contact Pontiac directly? We’ve already tried Ebay.
A: Try www.car-part.com has hundreds of salvage yard and inventory across the U.S. and Canada with prices included. Easy to pick your vehicle and part and takes only a couple of minutes to go through. Also sorts them by price.
Q: Are the Pontiac Vibes considered more of a girl’s car than a man’s car?
A: Wee little engine, hatchback, kinda roundish and ‘cute’ = girls car, man.
Q: Where to buy a battery hold down retainer bolt for a 2006 Pontiac Vibe.?
My 2006 Pontiac Vibe is missing the battery hold down retainer bolt. This bolt secures the battery hold down bar the front part, bolting in next to the radiator. I am not looking for the very long bolt with the hook on the end, I just looking for the inch tall bolt. Its just a $3 or less generic bolt, but its surprisingly hard to find. Thanks
I don’t know what size it is and whether or not its metric.
A: Go to a hardware store, and just buy a bolt, if that is what you meant. Otherwise, just go to your dealership, and buy one there.
Q: Thinking about upgrading my Pontiac Vibe to a bigger AWD vehicle, any suggestions?
With a baby & all the things that go with us on a trip…I’m slowly out growning my Pontiac Vibe, which I love very much. I need something bigger. I have been looking at the Buick Rendevous. I definitly need AWD or 4wd. With gas as crazy as it is I’d like something not so bad on gas mileage. Any suggestions?
A: Pontiac has a an AWD crossover call the “Torrent”, you will lose some MPG but it will not burn as much as a Envoy (Trailblazer).
You might look at seeing what you can do in the Vibe to maximize your space. We love our Vibe also. I think they are a great vehicle….Good Luck!
Q: What do you think of the Pontiac Vibe?
I had my heart set on a VW Jetta, but they’re a bit out of my price range…
I’ve found a really nice 2003 Pontiac Vibe for an equally nice price. It’s a clean car and drives well, but it needs new window tinting and a better dash-radio, both of which are easily fixable.
What do you guys think, is this a good car? Should I get the Vibe or keep looking?
A: Vibes are good cars with few problems the only one being Toyota engines oil sludge problem. The body is Pontiac the engine is Toyota. If its a good deal and you have a trusted mechanic check it out get it.
Q: Is there a bike carrier to fit a ‘09 Pontiac Vibe without installing a hitch?
I’d like to find a bike carrier to fit my ‘09 Pontiac Vibe. I don’t want to install a hitch and my car does not have a roof rack. Is there anything out there that will attach to the hatchback?
A: Here is your rear mount: http://www.thuleracks.com/fg_trunk.asp?car_id=9119&sport=22&year=2009&factory_id=&option_number=1 it fits and it isnt that expensive. Dont know where you are but Performance bike sells Thule racks just give them the # of the rack you need and they will give you a price for it. You can have it shipped to any store for pickup or anywhere else that sells Thule racks is fine too.
